Daddy Days!

Mommy had to work Monday and Tuesday to get oriented to a new unit. Daddy therefore took the days off of work to spend with the girls. Mommy came home on Monday, to find her darling daughter Claire playing outside. Like this.

Was it a warm summer day? Nope. Did she had dance or gymnastics that day? Nope. Did she have on a leotard and tap shoes, playing outside? Oh yes. Was she happy and having a fabulous time? Absolutely!

On Tuesday, Mommy worked for 15 hours. Guh. Daddy and the girls decided it would be fun to bake a cake. For some reason, this picture makes it look rather ugly when in fact, it actually looked really great and tasted even better! It is a two layer cake...quite an undertaking for Daddy!

Sweetness

Claire is seriously cute! She also loves to snuggle...hence her falling asleep in her unicorn costume nearly on top of her sister. She's a rather "lively" little girl, but her spunk and sweetness make her incredibly adorable.

Kindergarten...

Gulp.

Kate Spade...

Well, they are actually on Claire! These are purple....and the ones we ordered are actually rose colored. They were not in today and we are off to Newfoundland in the morning, so purple it is. Claire loves them, of course, as she was dressed totally in purple today.

Watch out Nana and Grampa....here we come!

Oops, says Leah, when she was caught making more mess than necessary.....
Watch me, says Claire, instigator of the mess.

After the party is over...

We celebrated Labor Day with our surrogate family and dear friends. Of course, the kids inhaled and then ran outside to play. Claire joined her friends and then realized that she also wanted to enjoy her food...so back inside she came. The adults were eating in the dining room but Daddy captured this sweet picture.

Five Toed Daddy

Are words really necessary for this post? I think not.

Lost Claire

So, as I was making my way upstairs to shower and get ready for work (our students start back today!)...I noticed Claire's bedroom door was open and she was not napping on her bed. I therefore thought to check Leah's room; no Claire. Hmmm...I then checked my room and the guest room; again, no Claire. Maybe she woke and made her way downstairs and I missed her? Living room. Family room. Dining room. Kitchen. Bathrooms. No Claire.

I remember napping when I was a little girl, okay I was in kindergarten, between my bed and the wall. Well, it seems Claire is enjoying it too! Granted, this is Leah's room, but she's been sleeping now for 2 hours quite peacefully. Remember my disclaimer? I am not waking her this time. Giggle.

Sweet, Tired, Sleeping Claire...

This summer, we bought season passports to our local water/amusement park "SeaBreeze". This is one very tired Claire who promptly fell asleep on the couch after a long day of sunshine, water, and roller coasters.
***Disclaimer: Never wake a 3.5 year old from a much needed nap. Never.***

Niagara Falls, Canada

We finally took a day trip to Niagara Falls, Canada. Given we are 90 minutes away, it seemed about time we took the girls, and Daddy, who have never been!

We did the "Journey Beneath the Falls" and it was awesome!

Of course we had ice cream...

Waiting patiently in line to take the elevators down...

Entertaining each other...and everyone else in line!

Making "shocked" faces of awe as the wind whipped the mist into our faces! Of course, the girls called it smoke, wet smoke to be exact.

Birthday Dreams

After celebrating with our family the Butlers, Laura and Jamie, and few neighborhood friends, Leah's final birthday wish was to fall asleep in the living room (girls' playroom) in front of the TV with a movie on. At 7pm, she put on Dora, lay down with her pillow and blanket and was dreaming within an hour....
